Are you new to the greater Wilmington area neighborhood and looking for assistance in finding your way around town? Welcome Service is here to help with all the important information you may need to familiarize yourself and your family with our beautiful Coastal North Carolina community.

Wilmington offers a vibrant community of sites, activities, and friendly locals that make it a perfect coastal home. Explore the city’s historic downtown district, a short walk from the riverfront pier. While you’re downtown, grab a bite and drink from the neighborhood of locally-owned bars, breweries, restaurants, and music venues. Bring your kids to roam the blooms of Airlie Gardens or explore the North Carolina Battleship. Get in touch with your creative side, and see a show at the historic Thalian Hall or walk the halls of the Cameron Art Museum. Take a walk on the beach, or explore sea life up close at the Fort Fisher Aquarium. No matter what excites you, Wilmington has something for everyone.

What can newcomers and businesses who are interested in us expect from Welcome Service?

Newcomers can expect a wonderful one-on-one opportunity to learn about the Cape Fear Coast community. We try and spend 10 minutes or so with everyone we meet. New businesses can expect we will represent them with market exclusivity and tell how wonderful each business is we represent. Welcome Service is proud to have showcased many businesses that have been with the program for over 40 years!

 

How far out does Welcome Service reach in the area?

We currently have a vibrant team of six  hand-delivering welcome bags. We travel from Surf City/Rocky Point down to and including Southport. Areas we’ve served include Wilmington, Hampstead, Leland, Winnabow and Oak Island.

 

I just moved to the area but have not been contacted. How do I go about scheduling a welcome visit?

How long will the visit last?  

Visits can last from 10 minutes to 30, depending on how many questions newcomers might have.

 

What are the hours for welcome visits?

7 days a week, from 9:00 a.m. until sunset.

 

How is Welcome Service addressing the current healthcare pandemic?

To accommodate for social distancing, we deliver most of the “welcomes” on our clients’ front porch instead of going into their homes. Of course, we are wearing masks and remain six feet away from everyone.
